Obviously Viral - Learning to Celebrate Women

Quote of the week: “Remember, 'play like a girl' means score a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of a WC final. Thanks to @carlilloyd for the clarification.” - @shiflett

This week’s viral madness:

Ladies and gentlemen, whether you are American or British, today we come together to unite our “Ohhhs” and “Ahhhs” in harmony to admire the ever adorable, beautiful and purely majestic official christening portraits of Princess Charlotte:

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            For more cuteness click here

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            For more cuteness click here

I mean seriously, look at those smiles...and those cheeks!! They’ve just magically charmed over 50K users...

Yes, yes, we know. We just celebrated our Independence from these people for goodness’ sake! BUT there is a time and place for pride. And I think we showed it off brilliantly when our #TeamUSA won the 2015 Women’s World Soccer Cup this weekend:

All over Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you name it - people were going crazy!

And obviously, Carli Lloyd got some massive praise as well:

You would think that with all this #GirlPower celebration, people would be more chill about the female body. Nope! To expose #doublestandards, the movement #FreeTheNipple was sparked a couple of months ago, which has since gone viral all over social media.

The most recent incident of double standards happened when Justin Bieber decided to post a photo of his derriere on his Instagram feed and when Demi Lovato posted a photo of herself revealing...clothing. Here is a small snippet of the different reactions:

Our conclusion by observation: when men post revealing photos, users have mostly positive things to say, however, when women decide to do something similar the world goes absolutely mad. Further examples:

To highlight the ridiculousness of the situation and just the overall stigma people have against the female nipple, Micol Hebron created this hilarious post on Facebook, which has been shared all over social media platforms:

Ever since, users have been using the male nipple to cover their female nipple...because that makes everything more appropriate. Woof! Thank goodness women won’t be offending anyone anymore! The reactions are funny while still proving a point:

And finally, it was #SharkWeek this week and people were definitely excited:

While others, a.k.a Veronica-Pooh Nash Poleate, are still all around really, we mean really, skeptical of oceans/sharks altogether:
